Meet Krissy Varney, Technical Writer

Krissy Varney, Phoenix Innovate’s crack new technical writer, draws from more than 20 years of experience as an IT manager, project coordinator and communications specialist. Prior to joining Phoenix, Krissy worked for Dialog Direct in several different IT roles from 1999 to 2021. 

Krissy will be providing valuable process documentation, some IT duties, and will serve as an internal project coordinator. 

Mike Spalding, the department leader, has known Krissy for years and is looking forward to working with her again. 

“I had the opportunity to work with Krissy in her first position at Budco over 22 years ago,” he says. “She has grown from those early days as a junior helpdesk technician into a talented and seasoned IT professional. Krissy has developed into a very detailed and methodical planner and problem solver. She has an innate grasp of technical aspects of the IT world across all areas including infrastructure, application development.  Her skills in project management have served Krissy and the organizations she works with very well. I look forward to her assisting PI as we move further into an IT-led organization.”

Krissy looks forward to the challenge of helping Phoenix Innovate move forward. 

“Change can be intimidating at first,” she says, “but I am so glad I made the change to Phoenix Innovate and am looking forward to all it has to offer. It’s a great match for my skills and interests and I’m excited!”

Krissy enjoys reading about American history and mysteries, and spends her spare time adventuring with her two young sons and her family.
