Devin Smalley, Director of Program Management

It takes a deft hand to navigate project management and customer engagement. And we’re happy to say that Devin Smalley, Phoenix Innovate’s new director of program management, has the skills and experience to handle the task. 

Joining Phoenix Innovate from the team at Avanzado, Devin brings 20 years of experience in customer engagement, planning and implementing large-scale events for regional, national and international clients. He also has an extensive background in enterprise applications, digital solutions, direct and permission-based marketing, business intelligence and database solutions.

“Devin’s skills and his outgoing personality really help him engage with our customers and forge lasting relationships,” says Kirk Vercnocke, CEO of Phoenix Innovate. “We are fortunate to have him on board as director of program management.”

He is looking forward to continuing his strategic planning and relationship-building at Phoenix. “I’m excited to join a team that proactively starts a client relationship with listening for the need and focuses on lasting relationships rather than one and done jobs,” he says.

He attended the University of Michigan-Flint before starting his career in project management. He’s worked with several industries across the state, including automotive, gaming, real estate and wholesale construction supplies. Moving forward, Devin will help maintain Phoenix Innovate’s credibility with existing clients and develop strategies to expand PI’s offerings for revenue growth.

At home, Devin enjoys watching a good movie with his wife and son, camping, attending local sports events, and chasing his two dogs around the house.
